Improvements to South West Trains' stations

7th April 2008
South West Trains
Twelve of South West Trains’ stations have had new fencing installed in a £200,000 joint project with Network Rail.

Life-expired fencing at Raynes Park, Feltham, Bedhampton, Virginia Water, Wandsworth Town, New Malden, Farnham, West Byfleet, Byfleet & New Haw, Worcester Park, Bournemouth and Earley has been replaced with new metal fencing to improve the look of the station and make it a more secure environment.

Malcolm Page, South West Trains’ Station Development Manager said: “The metal fencing we have installed at these stations is a big improvement on the old wooden fencing that was previously in place and is much more secure. This project is one of a number of projects which are underway across our network to smarten up our stations.”

Robert Hayward, Operational Estate Manager at Network Rail said: “This represents another good example of Network Rail and South West Trains working in partnership on initiatives that are designed to improve passengers’ perceptions and the overall environment on stations across the network.”
